Hey Jwil,

I've been using the M50s for many years now and they are my "go to" cans. They are comfortable and are very detailed, making them a reliable alternate to check my mixes. I also use them regularly when playing the piano. I personally believe them to be a very good choice for studio work due to their sturdy construction and reasonable price. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Highly recommend them-amazing stereo sound, plus it's extraordinary clarity. No "uber-bass" condensed sound, just all natural.

If you're going to spend money on a head amp u might as we get a passive volume attenuator with a headamp built in. I have SM Pro audio m-patch 2.1. Not a great headamp but Im not an audiophile so I dont care. The main advantage is a volume control for your monitors tuned in 1 dB steps. Accepts balanced and unbalanced in order to handle multiple sources and multiple monitors. Highly recommend.
