Default Hollywood Choirs: Wordbuilder question

Hello.

I have to work on a small project with a choir and I wanted to use the Hollywood Choirs as a library as it contains the Wordbuilder feature (and also I wanted to learn how to use it).

The results are awesome! It really sounds great and I'm loving working with it!

I'm still in process of mastering the Wordbuilder, still don't understand all of the features - and there is one thing I can't really figure out - the Hold Syllable feature.

I have a phrase "Salve Regina", which goes as "Sa-a-al-ve Re-gi-i-na" and I'm not able to set it up correctly. I read in the manual, that I should set up any free CC to controll the Hold Syllable feature, so I used CC 14, set it's value to 127 before "Sa" and "gi" syllables, but wherever I place the CC value change, the whole syllable is pronounced from the beginning and I'm getting this result:
"Sa-sa-al-ve Re-gi-gi-na".

Manual says:
Quote:
For example, if you want the “ee” sound of “sweet” to hold over five notes, send the MIDI CC assigned to ON from the sequencer before the “ee” has started on its first note, and send the OFF command after the start of its fifth note.
If I configure it this way, I'm getting swee-swee-swee all the time.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

Thanks for asking this question! Hopefully the developers will respond. I’ve had no luck whatsoever with the hold syllable feature and stopped trying to use it. As a workaround, I repeat the vowel sound in wordbuilder for each note in a melisma, and tweak lengths to get a legato sound. Takes a lot of work to get a decent result.

The Hold applies to the full syllable. If you just want the vowel sound to hold, you need to put the hold before the vowel only
