Default Basic recording hardware

For you guys who mix live recordings with the EW libraries - I'm curious what kind of hardware you've got for recording? I'm looking toward basic stuff with the possibility of upgrading later.

I know setting up my place for even basic live recording is a big job, but it's something I need to look into I think since none of my recording studio buddies get me much of a discount on the studio time... it's pricey!

And I've got this awesome violinist girlfriend... gotta take advantage!

protools LE MBox. Good starter package with LOTS of plugin goodies to get your feet wet.

HERE would be a good place to start looking. Firewire interfaces are recommended over USB, but you should get one that best suits your needs.

To treat your room or home studio, you should look into sE Electronics' Reflexion Filter or Auralex Acoustics Foam; whichever you think is better for your needs.

Finally, to do post editing on your vocals, get Celemony's Melodyne plugin.

Thanks guys! I already PM'd Allan regarding his post.

Thanks for all the info persentio, I didn't know firewire was preferred... and I certainly know nothing about room treatment. This is very helpful.
