Default Laptop HD Question

As I'm upgrading to a new rockin' setup, I figured I should also upgrade my laptop I've been using so it can at least come close to keeping up. I compose away from home a lot.

Anywho. I've already figured out which kind of RAM I need, and have bought the maximum possible. BUT, I'm having a tough time figuring out which HD I'll need.

I know that my drive has an IDE connector... and that means I can't use a SATA drive. BUT can I use an ATA-6 HD? The information I've found on the net seems to suggest that if it isn't SATA, it'lll work in my laptop. Can someone confirm this?

Edit: And yes, this is what I do on Saturday nights.
