Leave the LAN drivers for the moment. They shouldn't be a problem.

Is there WiFi on the board, and if so, is it enabled? If so, uninstall the drivers and remove the hardware if you can, else disable it in Device Manager.

Only use wired Ethernet connections. If you do need to connect via WiFi, use a wired connection from the computer to a WiFi bridge, which you set to use your WiFi network.

Regarding the dropouts, check if they occur at regular intervals. If so, order Task Manager processes by CPU% and see what suddenly jumps up at the expected dropout time.

I don't have wifi; all is nicely wired.
The dropouts, irritatingly, do not occur at regular intervals.
Sometimes I may have a couple a minute, another time I may not have one for 20 minutes. Which, like I said, makes it difficult to test whether any corrective measures have worked!
They don't seem to correspond to anything peak-like on DPC Latency Checker, Latency Monitor, or Task Manager - which I find very peculiar. Sometimes I wonder if that might be a symptom of the problem being due to my UR22 not getting enough consistent power?
I really don't know!
Thanks goodness the problem is not frequent enough to actually cripple my workflow! I still wish I could get it sorted though! I've built a fairly beautiful system here (by my own humble reckoning) and it's annoying that there are inexplicable glitches in it's performance!
There are a few people on the Steinberg forums with identical problems. Maybe, at some point, new drivers will appear and the dropouts will vanish!

Sorry to say, but I've reached the extent of help I can offer right now.

Log your hiccups and what was being done at the time, just so you can provide stats if required.

Hello Lorenz

I haven't received a PM yet, but before your comment here became a mentioning of PMing, you suggested I send you a Cubase file so you could try and help. Well this is a new machine and I haven't used it much as a DAW yet, and there certainly aren't any Cubase files yet created on it. But, as I think I said few pages ago, these dropouts happen even outside of a DAW environment. I could be watching youtube, listening to an mp3 on WMPlayer, listening to a track on Spotify, or playing a game - so fairly everyday, non-specialist activities - and still these dropouts will happen.
Baffling.

Yeah, I edited it. Odd. I donīt see the PM in my sent folder ... Oh, well.

I usually let Patanjali do the hardware stuff. Heīs way more experienced than me.
Itīs the last thing I can think of ... some kind of Cubase error.

Otherwise, you might want to write a Support Ticket if itīs a bother to you.

Hehe!

Continuing the theme of removing unnecessary clutter, do you think I should remove Intel Rapid Storage Technology? I don't have any kind of RAID configuration going on so I can't imagine IRST is doing anything useful.

Some have had audio problems (with DPC latency peaks) with the IRST (though many links are for different sites with the same thread), but here is how to uninstall the IRST.
