Default 1/8-inch output to 1/4 input?

I have a Tascam US-122 audio interface which has Left and Right 1/8 line outputs. There are some speakers I am looking at that only have balanced/unbalanced inputs.

Would this still work if I run the output of the US-122 and use an adapter to change it to 1/4 to run into my speakers?

P.S. The speakers are powered speakers.

Thanks.

1/8"? What is that? RCA? Mini Jacks?

Adapter should be fine though. As long as everything in the chain remains stereo or mono. No mixing/matching adapters.

Yes, it is RCA unbalanced output at 1/8" into my powered monitor speaker's input, unbalanced/balanced 1/8".

What do you mean by "no mixing/matching adapters?"

Oh-I've seen all kinds of crazy adapters of one sort or another! If your channeling a MONO wire - keep it Mono.

Stereo - Keep stereo

Balanced > Keep balanced adapters going the path

Unbalanced, etc, etc.

I've seen stereo quarter inch adaptors plugged in Mono's, etc...

Yeah had a friend borrow a set of my monitors and he used the wrong cables. He ended up paying to fix the tweeter he blew out.
