Default Oberheim MC3000

Hi all,

I'm considering buying a second hand Oberheim MC3000 as my Studiologic SL880 has broken keys... Just wondered if anyone has used the Oberheim before and whether it represents a better quality touch than the Studiologic? The Oberheim is going for 200.

Thanks
Doug

Do you have the option of trying out the hardware before purchasing?
Second hand is always a bit of an issue, imo.

EDIT: There is absolutely nothing wrong with second hand! Im simply
overly careful when purchasing something from someone else.

Technically I do but it's a fair distance to travel first. It's been described as in "full working order" so was wondering whether a good version of this keyboard is much more superior to a fully working studiologic (if that makes sense)...

Yup, thats what Id actually been expecting.
And, yes, it makes sense.

Im afraid, Ive never used the Oberheim MC3000 myself.

Finding quality info on the web about it is a bit hard, but
I did find this: https://www.paulvickers.com/mc3000.htm
(Vickers is currently an Associate Professor at Northumbria
University.)
