Default Headphones?

Hi Guys,

So I need to buy a new pair of open backed headphones. I mainly write piano and string music, some orchestral and big trailer stuff and a not so much now...smooth jazz.

Any recommendations. I've been thinking about Sennheiser HD600's. I want to keep my price under $400.

Is there a much difference between Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic and AKG at this price?

I've heard that the Sennheiser's are very comfortable for long writing sessions.

Anyway any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Best

BobG

PS probably going for a calibration software tool too.
