Default Working with Sibelius

Hi everyone,
Wondering if anyone can tell me if I export midi from sibelius will the performance directions be included and will east west stuff then pick them up and perform the audio as written on paper?

I use sibelius for all my writing and will be getting the composer cloud sub so I can create better sounding demos before going to record with real instruments.

Thanks in advance.

The 'expression' in Sibelius is a program generated feature and is not included with the midi file on export.

Sibelius, like any notation software, when exporting MIDI data, only note on/off, pitch, and velocity are transferred. EWQL uses keyswitches for different articulations, and there is an article in the AVID forums on this: http://www.sibeliustutorials.com/how...s-in-sibelius/
Your articulations, like accents, will transfer, but I like to use the KS method, because EW went to all that trouble to actually record musicians playing those specific articulations..

You'll want to get the 3rd part SoundSets from the SoundSet Project. A must.

Hello !

I'm using these with success, even if you need tweaking:

Definitely!
After getting EWQLHO, I spent another $100 on soundsets. Gotta figure out how to make them myself...
Too bad there still is no soundset for percussion. You simply cannot get a decent suspended cymbal roll with Sib sounds.

They are something to look forward to if you mix your scores in Pro Tools, though.

There is a way that you can export CC (CC1, CC11, CC7, etc.) data from Sibelius! In Sibelius 7, if you go to the "Play" tab and select the Plug-ins menu you've got some options.

I've just done a very quick clip to demonstrate how to use either method. If you want to use it in a musical way, it takes a lot more programming and it definitely is easier to do that within a DAW, but it is absolutely possible to have Sibelius work with MIDI CCs and export them.
