I am considering purchasing one of these two keyboard, the differences being that the Grand has wooden keys and graded action, which I love for the piano. If I am using it for the entire Composer Cloud collection, do you think this feature is worth the extra $400? I am a pianist and do record some piano-based songs and instrumentals.

As a pianist myself, I've only worked on/with keyboards that meet my standards.
And I do have relatively high ones for the "true piano feeling". I haven't tried either one of those two that you've mentioned, but if I were you (and its in your budget), then I'd go to a local retailer and try it out myself. IIRC, I spent hours simply trying one piano after another until I round the right one. ![]()

Thanks for your reply. Astoundingly, none of the retailers have them on display (some don't even have them in stock), because they have no internal sounds and therefore are not the best sellers. The only place one might find it is in their studio room hooked up to software, but not by me.

Ah, sadly that's quite understandable if the piano in question doesn't have an
onboard sound system. Mine doesn't either, but then again, at the time, I drove to the largest retailer in Germany (if not Europe?). Well, I think that Epiano has a good feeling of it. ![]() If worst comes to worst, make sure to check the EULA of the retailer concerning returns. Authorization of the RMA should be with as little problems as possible, if you decide to change your mind!

Thanks for all your replies. I ordered the SL88 Grand. There is a video demo on their site that has a composer named Ty Unwin explaining how useful it is for his piano, string and other sounds. He mad the sale. If I like it, I am going to let him know.
