Default Considering buying an Imac.

Hello All!

I am on the fence of getting a new Imac so I can get back into the composing game. I am leaning toward getting an Imac 27" 4.2ghz quad core with 8gb of ram configurable to 64 (planning on buying memory separately) and the 256gb SSD and plan on buying additional SSD drives to stream samples from. This will run to about $2.2k prior to tax for the comp alone.

I am a hobbyist who gets local gigs for film from time to time. Have not written in like 2 years. I will be mostly using composer cloudx, I typically load templates not exceeding 30 instruments. I do like the appeal of Logic and simplicity/aesthetics of Macs as I am not very tech savy. Do you think this is a decent setup for my needs, are there better setups I should look into for less $??

Any suggestions/concerns would be appreciated!

Thanks!
Danny
