Default Do I NEED Play 6?!

Hi all,

Is this paid upgrade to Play 6 necessary do anyone think?

I dont have composer cloud but I suppose I have a fair collection of East West Libraries on my mac...so a search engine might be useful..

But is it worth actually paying for?!
Play 5 is still free....

Thanks!

The load time is faster.
Actually I did buy it because I thought I could make my own keyswitch.
Maybe it will come in the future....

How about the ability to search for, and load over 12,000 instruments from 60 products and over a terabyte of data in seconds, that took over a year to achieve.

Plus there are many other improvements, check out the feature list here ...

Hi, I appreciate the searching and loading from 60 products, but thats only if you have Composer Cloud?

It feels like Eastwest is trying to nudge us all towards Composer Cloud! ;-)

Not only for ComposerCloud, it works for all installed collections.

There's a feature in the PLAY 6 search that allows you to tick a box that shows up only your installed libraries. I'm still a permanent license user rather than ComposerCloud and it works really well for scouring amongst libraries that you own, but then also opening your eyes to options that you might not own yet that could do the job you're looking for.

PLAY 6 feels smoother, quicker, and generally an overall improvement that I was happy to have paid the relatively low cost to upgrade. I made the decision to upgrade when I did because I'm on a project that's set in the Middle East and working with the micro-tunings in RA and SILK meant that it was really difficult to blend that with orchestral libraries - PLAY 6 has the micro-tunings available on the Hollywood instruments so you can have everything out of tune together!

It's not perfect, there are elements that will no doubt be refined over time, but it's well worth the price of admission IMO.
