Default Play Big Band Horns

To me, big band horns the hardest sound to emulate using samples, especially solo sounds. but if solo sounds are too difficult to pull off i'd like to request EW to come up with a big band horn ensemble for pop, jazz, funk. after all, hiring a big band is not cheap.

I have to say I was personally a bit surprised when I learned there wasn't any in Hollywood Woodwinds

But yes, a strong jazz dedicated library is one of my greatest desires

I actually overheard some film scoring faculty at Berklee discussing making a new "jazz film scoring" course which could make a library such as that pretty popular

Yes, yes, yes. I know another company just did a swing sample library, but i like EW, and i'm one of those folks who actually likes working in Play better than Kontakt. A good big band library would be awesome. There are some jazzy patches in the Pop Brass folder in Goliath, but i haven't had much success with them. A dedicated big band library would be worth every penny, especially if it had a great upright bass. That alone could be useful for a number of styles.

+1 to a "Hollywood Big Band" release!

Deeply sampled saxes, brass and reeds, extended ranges, articulations, etc.

There is some product out there, but we could use a big. expansive release!

Absolutely +1. You can get a really rough approximation using existing EW stuff but it's not broadcast standard by any means, and I too would rather work in Play than Kontakt. Come on EW, you can do it!

I've been thinking more about things we could use...

clarinet/flute family gliss
muted brass rips/falls/etc
tight, tight shorts
trt/trb 1.2.3 deeply sampled
superior saxes deeply sampled
strings! (smaller sections -- jazz/big band/Lawrence Welk strings would be a first!)
pit orchestra/jazz space reverbs

Baritone Sax and Contrabass Sax would be an amazing thing to have. Maybe they could sample all of the saxes. I'm kinda sax crazy right now :P
