Default Entering multiple instruments in sonar X3

Does anyone have some step by step intructions on setting up Multiple instruments using s single instance of Play in Sonar X3.
I just cant seem to get it right
In this piece I have (EW Silver Strings) 2 x violins,2 x Basses,2 x Spicc Violins,2 x Cellos/Violas.
When I insert Play into Sonar Im not sure which options i should choose in the Insert Soft Synth Options box.
I know i should be asssigning each instrument its own midi channel and should have the corresponding midi channel in the midi track, but i just cant get it to work.
Can someone help a moron like me.

It still comes back to the Insert Synth options box which i cant see mentioned i either of those links. From what I can gather if you have a midi track such as explained in the Play 6 instructions it doesnt work,it needs to be paired with an audio track
