Hey everyone, Just got the composer cloud after deliberating about it for a bit. Really in the long run I want to get to where I can make music in the style of Michael Buble and Sinatra. I'm also a fan of like an ambient orchestral style. Below is my first go, let me know what you think and any tips that might help, Thanks.

Great start! Keep on playing and composing. You've got good tools to work with.

That sounds beautiful Yank (is that what I call you? Lol!). Your sound choices were perfect. The mix is nicely done also. The only songwriting suggestion I would give it to have more highs and lows. Be more dynamic with it. Make people want those next notes. If there's too much movement in a song with no highs or lows, it starts to drone on. Other than that, it was brilliant and I can't wait to hear more!
I just signed up myself and haven't received my hard drive yet. My internet is too slow to download all this stuff. I downloaded Gypsy and it literally took 2 days. Lol!! I can't wait to get started with it. :-) Jim |

Thank you guys very much. You can call me Yank or Nick, doesn't matter to me.
I agree that it can drone on too long, in fairness I am fan of droning strings. I really wanted to work some drums in there but man I can't really seem to get behind the drum options so far. Specifically I am trying to utilize Stormdrum 3 but I haven't been able to mix it in and make it sound good/like it belongs. The Piano is part of the QL Pianos, it's the Steinway D with reverb from another vst called Ambience (by Smartelectronix) which is free and in my opinion is the best free reverb VST. The Cello and Violins are from the Hollywood Solo packs. |
