Pardon my lack of knowledge but how do you remove the iLok if it is needed to open an instrument?

Since upgrading to PLAY 6, it takes about 25 seconds to launch PLAY (in Logic Pro/OS 10.13.6). Once PLAY is open, the loading of instruments is fine.

You can then move your license between computers using the iLok License Manager on each device. (https://www.ilok.com/#!license-manager).

You would need to sign-in on the computer that the license is currently activated to in order to de-activate it. This will revert the license back to being available in your iLok Account. Then, sign-in to the License Manager on the other computer and activate it. In your particular case, sign into the iLok License Manager and deactivate the license off of the plugged in iLok Key, then you can activate it onto your computer directly.

Alternately, you could purchase an iLok Key 2 or 3 and activate the license to that device, so you just need to move the USB key to whichever computer you wish to use.

You need to get an iLok2, transfer all your authorizations to it, then remove the the iLok one.

Will give it go, thanks for the suggestions. I will probably move forward with an iLok 2 purchase and follow the idea you mentioned. K

Hi Kendall,

dix did not have the EastWest licenses on his iLok1 key. He had his EastWest licenses on a newer iLok but had to remove the iLok1 key for Play to open up at regular speed.
If you are using an iLok1 you can try to activate your license directly to your computer instead and removing the iLok1.
