Magic Giraffe Soundworks is on a distinguished road
Default Dropouts/Issues even with robust setup

Hi folks,

I have an issue when trying to bounce tracks or export tracks, and sometimes with playback as well. I don't know if this is hardware, or software, but I'm hoping I include enough evidence that someone can help me.

Here's what I currently use (full specs in my signature block):
-iMac mid-2011 as host
-Logic Pro X as DAW
-Custom PC as a slave for sample libraries
-Vienna Ensemble Pro to connect everything

-Hollywood Orchestra (this is the library I'm using when problems start)
-All samples are on SSDs in the slave computer
-Project file is on a 10000 RPM Thunderbolt HDD connected to the iMac.

1. During playback with large orchestra setups, I sometimes get light crackling.
2. During playback and with exported files, I often get a "skipping" sound at the end of a rendered file.
3. When bouncing in place/bouncing-and-replacing/exporting tracks, I frequently get instrument dropouts, abrupt cutoffs (for instance, a sustained string note will cut off BUT I still get the reverb trail from that improper cutoff), and the results are inconsistent - in other words, there is frequently a problem, but the problem does not manifest itself exactly the same way.

I am including a short example - 2 images, and a link to an unlisted Youtube video demonstrating what happens.

One image is 3 instances of me bouncing a 2-measure track (that's it, nothing else is on the track). It's the same MIDI region in both images - this one is using Play on the host computer with Symphonic Orchestra Platinum (and I get zero issues)

The other image is 3 instances of attempting to bounce the same 2-measure track using the full setup (Host-Slave-Hollywood Orchestra-VEP) where you can see that not only did each one bounce incorrectly, it wasn't even the same each time (evidenced by the obvious difference in the waveform)

The video is me showing first what it sounds like when I use the MIDI as-is (which works well) then what the issue sounds like when I bounce in place (which is totally messed up). Forgive my goofy speech, this was about 3 AM in the morning and I was barely awake - view it here: https://youtu.be/vKUvIoK2koc

I know there has to be someone on here who has dealt with it. Does anyone have any insight? Thank you in advance!
