Smile Changing articulation levels in PLAY Gui by double clicking

My next suggestion is about the knob for changing the articulation level of the chosen instrument. Often changing by the knob is not fine enough. In this case, a double clicking on the numbers with an opportunity to enter numbers will be an improvement. Like the changing of the volume level in the mixer sight.

Default Ctrl

If you hold down the Ctrl key while adjusting the value of articulations in Play it can be done in much finer increments or decrements.

Exclamation Ctrl doesnīt works - better use mouse-wheel

Hello Sqwert,

Thanks for your hint, but it doesnīt works. I use Play as a plug-in in Cubase on a Windows system. Perhaps, somewhere in the deep of my system is a case, that hinder this function.

But, I disvovered another thing! By trying your hint I accidentally recognize, that using the mouse-wheel changes the articulation levels very smooth. Only in one direction - for decrementation. I put an overlevel and then a quick down with the mouse-wheel (cursor must be over the graphics - not over the numbers). So, I can live with this.

Many greetings from Germany.

Um, very strange. I am running Cubase pro 9.5 with Windows 10 and if I hold Ctrl and Click (over the articulation knob) and Drag the mouse upward or downwards (a fair bit) I get an increase or decrease of just .05 value. Which is definitely fine enough for any fine adjustments.

Smile

Hello Sqwert,

thanks for your response.

I tried your suggestion. In my case I must drag the mouse a large!! way and then I saw the increasing or decreasing in 0,05 values and then, after releasing the CTRL key, the value jumped back to the start level!!!???

So, thanks again and have a nice time.

With many greetings from Germany.

Default Update!

Update!

So, I tried again and I recognize an error by myself. Unfortunately, when I tried the CTRL key together with the left mouse key, I first released the CTRL key - and this didnīt work. That was the error! Normally itīs better to release the mouse key first!

Many Greetings from Germany.

I was going to post that but thought sooner or later you'll work it out. In this case sooner. Nice one. By the way, do you by chance use the Play engine with Quick Controls in Cubase?. Because I get severe Performance Meter spikes when I assign anything from the Play UI to any knob via Midi Learn.

Smile Quick Controls

Hello Sqwert,

no, I never use Quick Controls or Midi Learn. Sorry, I canīt give you any hints in this case.

In the beginning making music with Cubase, I had some performance meter pikes. Then I increase the time of the ASIO driver and this helped. Perhaps, this may help you.

Have a good time with making music.

Many greetings from Germany
